Overdressed as always in the Pacific Northwest

My husband and I have gotten used to the usual comments such as: You guys look great are you going to a costume party?  Wow you two are so Madmen! (I loathe this one.) And then there is the really truly strange comments I get when visiting family that live in less metropolitan areas. The latest was "Are you snow white, did you just go square dancing?" What the hell. I suppose if I lived in Vegas or southern California where there is a strong rockabilly culture this would happen less. Since I live in a colder rainy state where most people go out to eat in a nice restaurant wearing jeans and a t-shirt I just have to accept that here when you get dressed up just for the hell of it peeps are going to assume that I am some sort of cosplay enthusiast.

Anyways for all you ladies like me that just like to get dressed up for the sake of getting dressed up here are some everyday outfits. It can be hard to look cute and be comfortable.

Hair sculpture

I love pin curls, however I do not love setting my hair in pin curls. Talk about sore arms and it takes forever. I just ordered the Sculpture pin curling tool and have high hopes that it will simplify this tedious task. I will post a review once I get it in the mail. In the mean time I will drool over all of this fantastic hair porn and dream of being able to master these styles one day.

This is the tool, it's spendy at $35.00 for a rather small tool, not to mention it ships from Australia for another $15.00. Yikes! What if you loose it or it gets stepped on. I held off on making this purchase until I came across it on ebay for a mere $15.00 and $2.50 in shipping. It should arrive any day, I will post a review and pics soon!

On to pin curl porn!

For the love of Vintage

Photos from my recent shoot showcasing some of my most recent clothing and accessory purchases. I made the red circle skirt from a vintage pattern.  The pink dress is from Pin up Girl clothing as well as the  deep cut white and black top. I love collecting vintage and vintage inspired clothing yet hardly ever get to wear it out being that I live in rainy Seattle, Wa. More often than not I opt for a practical North Face coat to keep the wet and cold out. So whats a vintage loving girl to do in the winter? Take lots of photos and collect, collect, collect for a sunnier day.
